Captain's Profile
Captain, THOMAS COLEMAN, is an USCG licensed Captain and the owner of
RHAPSODY. Tom grew up on Long Island Sound and spent his summers swimming, fishing, and
boating. After working as a mate on charter fishing boats in his teenage years, he was
educated at the University of Connecticut where he attended on a basketball
scholarship. Tom spent 27 years in a professional career with the Nuclear Power
Industry during which he spent his weekends and vacations cruising Long Island Sound, the
Florida Keys, the Bahamas and the Virgin Islands. He has returned to his roots in yachting
and brings a professional and courteous attitude with him. He is a skilled sailor and
enjoys yacht maintenance, RHAPSODY is always in Bristol Condition and he takes pride in
keeping all systems in top working order, Tom is certified by the American Sailing
Association (ASA) to teach Basic Keelboat Sailing, Coastal Cruising, Coastal Navigation
and Bareboat Chartering. Having cruised New England, the Florida Keys and the
Bahamas for over 20 years, he knows where all the great snorkeling is, the secluded
anchorage and where the hot spots are. He delights in teaching his guests how to sail,
catch dinner, and experience the cruising lifestyle in a relaxed informal manner making
for the vacation of a lifetime.
